Collection: Pep Guerrero
Born in Puerto de Sóller (Mallorca) in 1966, he began his artistic career in 1991, with an exhibition at the Lluc Fluxá Gallery in Palma. Since then he has not stopped participating in individual and collective exhibitions, adding special recognition both nationally and internationally.
Guerrero is possibly one of the artists with his own style and language. Quickly identifiable, his works, the result of the combination of painting and collage, with the use of reproductions of images of Renaissance paintings, to others completely current, as well as selected patterned papers, such as toile de Jouy landscapes or others that imitate animal skins. , in which they are confused, or rather, they confuse us, in a kind of game between what is real and what is fictional, between what is painted and what the artist has appropriated.
Guerrero's works, with an aesthetic close to Kitch , Pop or Dadaism , have at the same time that air, that golden classical work, with references to the great works of Renaissance painters.
Guerrero's work has transcended the exhibition space, collaborating with Ágatha Ruíz de la Prada or Tolo Crespí or the Camper brand.
