ISO-KOW

ISO-KOW is the result of combining the term isometric with the name of the legendary Kowloon Walled City, a work that pays homage to that enclave that disappeared in 1993. At one time, it housed more than 50,000 people in just 2.6 hectares, making it one of the most densely populated urban spaces on the planet.

This creation seeks to reflect the extreme isolation the Walled City experienced as Hong Kong continued to grow around it. Modern urban planning gradually enclosed it, trapping it in its own labyrinth of concrete and metal.

In ISO-KOW, it is visually freed from its surroundings, giving it a solitary role to highlight an often forgotten fact: even in that chaotic network of structures, sunlight managed to sneak in at times, illuminating a landscape that seemed condemned to perpetual shadow.
