HYBRID 2023

HYBRID Contemporary Art Fair | VII Edition

We're off to Madrid Art Week!!!

We are participating in Hybrid for the first year and we are very excited 🚀🚀

Hybrid Art Fair is a dynamic event offering an atypical exhibition programme based on experimental practices and site-specific projects. The fair offers a range of local and international independent proposals and is a recognised springboard for emerging artists.

The exhibition is set in a special environment, the rooms of a hotel . This, together with the fair's transdisciplinary artistic programme, creates a different and unique experience for visitors, highlighting direct contact with artists and immersive curatorial projects. The fair is also the perfect place to purchase unique pieces of contemporary art at affordable prices .

Abi Castillo (Vigo, 1987) is an illustrator and ceramicist from the city of Vigo. She graduated in Fine Arts from the University of Vigo and trained in ceramics at the EMAO.

The characters he creates speak of lived experiences and emotions. In short, they are an alter ego into which he pours out all his feelings. He feels the need to give life to objects, always looking for eyes to look into, which is why faces are very important in his work. Mysticism and drama, the monstrous and the beautiful, are always present in his work.

This collection reflects the deep and intense love she is in right now, having recently become a mother.

Begmont (Gijón, 1975) She has a degree in Fine Arts in Seville, although she completed her first years of her studies at the University of Salamanca.

His works are based on words, and words on drawing and colour, thus creating a constant framework that is difficult to separate.

The characters function, at times, as the author's own alter ego and at other times they simply show or establish cartographies of those things in life related to emotions, fears, dreams, expectations, everyday life... This is why her work can be defined as personal and intimate, with the desire to establish itself in the viewer's consciousness, without giving any respite to evasion.

Saracho (Gijon, 1973) He graduated in Fine Arts from the University of Leioa in the Basque Country. Already at that time, his work stood out for a very personal figuration, in which he represents anonymous locations and characters, moments that may apparently lack importance, but which are part of from his life experience.

In his final year at the Faculty he was awarded a Paradores de Turismo Scholarship, and upon completion, a jury chaired by the prestigious painter Antonio López selected his work to form part of the permanent collection of Paradores de España.

The subject matter of his works has two lines, one more urban, in which he presents us with figures in urban corners, in which the figures build a pictorial composition. And another line where nature is more present, a nature with expressive and free painting.
