Blanca Prendes ' early work was rooted in an informalist style that straddled the line between figuration and abstraction. In 2003, her studio burned down, destroying all the work she had produced in the previous two years. From that moment on, her work underwent a significant transformation. She no longer focused on a single technique and abandoned her visceral and spontaneous approach. Over time, she has returned to purely pictorial languages, although she continues to explore new media and techniques.
