Collection: Bernardino Sánchez Bayo
Born in 1978 in the city of Granada, Bernardino has a degree in Fine Arts from the University of his hometown, where he carried out the portraits of the professors of the Drawing Department of the Faculty of Fine Arts. His works have had numerous collective and individual exhibitions, such as the one held at the Fundación Caja Rural de Granada under the title Concerns, fears and ambitions. He was commissioned for a series of portraits of the different mayors of Ogíjares, as well as of HM the King, Don Felipe VI, located in the Plenary Hall of the municipality's town hall.
He has been awarded numerous prizes and mentions, being a finalist in the XXXIV Edition of the BMW Painting Award and in the International Figurative Painting and Sculpture Competition 2019.
In recognition of his production and career, he has won the First Prize in Motril, the First Prize in the XVIII Ciudad de Manzanares National Painting Contest in Ciudad Real, and the First Prize for Young Painting in Asturias, among other distinctions.
He has also enjoyed various training scholarships and artistic stays, such as the Landscape Grant from the Rodríguez Acosta Foundation in Granada, the Talens IX Grant in Barcelona or the V Concello de Sansenxo Call.
His pieces are in public and private collections, serving as examples the University of Granada, the Fundación Caja Rural de Granada, the Antonio López García Collection, Tomelloso (Ciudad Real), the Talens Art Fund of Barcelona, the Collection of Ibercaja Contemporary Art in Zaragoza, and the Town Halls of Villaviciosa, Gijón and Motril.
